Discovering the northwestern coast of La Palma
This is your northern adventure
Come and contemplate two million years of volcanic history, witnessing some of the wonders that the northwest of La Palma displays on its coast. Our walk allows us to see the cliffs, ports and natural beaches of the municipalities of Tijarafe and Puntagorda.
We will visit points such as Cueva Bonita, Poris de Candelaria, Playa de la Veta (where we will stop to take a bath if the sea allows it), Pozo de Tinizara, Cueva Colorada and Poris de Puntagorda.
Once we reach the end of the coastal route, we go a little further into the open sea, to go south to see the new lava flows of the Tajogaite volcano. Along the way, and although the excursion is not intended for sighting, sometimes we find dolphins, turtles, birds and other marine creatures that want to greet us. Afterwards, some days we will go out for a walk. Others, depending on the time, we will watch the sunset in the sea.
… Every day is a new adventure, full of surprises.
Route
- Cueva Bonita
- Candelaria Poris
- Veta Beach
- Cueva Colorada
- Puntagorda Poris
- Fajana volcánica
We always go to Veta Beach, where we will normally stop to take a bath in an idyllic place. The rest of the route will depend on which boat you choose, on the weather conditions, and on the opportunities of sightseeing. Sometimes, we might do the route the other way. Try to guess why…
